Validating a Maritime Multi-MW Fuel Cell System
MARINER is a European research and innovation project that will develop and validate a 1 MW hydrogen-based fuel cell system for maritime applications. By combining a modular architecture, open-source digital tools and real-world validation, the project aims to deliver a system that is:
- Scalable to multi-megawatt power levels
- Reliable in harsh marine environments
- Competitive in terms of economic, technical, and environmental performances.
This project is funded under the Call HORIZON-JU-CLEANH2-2025-03-03 — Reliable, efficient, scalable and lower cost 1 MW-scale PEMFC system for maritime applications.
Launched in April 2026, MARINER gathers a consortium of 13 partners coordinated by NORCE RESEARCH AS.
